about us

Nightbloom is a queer-owned, independent blog covering sex, queer media, and culture, and it’s the online home of veteran journalists Fennel Grey and Jaina Grey. It’s still early days, but we‘re excited for y’all to join us as we get this thing off the ground. Here’s a little bit about us!

Fennel Grey

she/they

Under a different name, Fennel previously wrote for WIRED. In the Science and later Culture sections, she covered space, the alt-right, Netflix movies, and closely followed the 2016 election. Today, she‘s a freelance writer living with her partner and their two pets (a cat, and a bunny) in Seattle, Washington, working on long form fiction and nonfiction projects. You can reach her by email here.

Jaina Grey

she/her

Previously, Jaina wrote for Digital Trends, Wilamette Week, Westlaw, Thomson Reuters, and most recently WIRED. She’s covered everything from crime and courts to games, sex tech, and coffee, though lately she prefers to stick with the latter. She’s a freelance writer who lives with her partner in Seattle, Washington where they run an adorable little blog together. You can reach her by email here, and find her on Bluesky, Threads, and Instagram. You can check out an archive of her work elsewhere below.👇
